First of all, you've taken a GREAT first step by reading this basic outline of best practices culled from the Top Participants over the past three years of this contest online.

The following will take you from start to finish with the Judging Panel this coming June, 2012:

1) Read the OFFICIAL RULES

2) REMEMBER: Just because you're signed up for myMaxMuscle, the Community, doesn't mean you're automatically entered into MaxForm 2012, the Contest. REGISTER FOR MAXFORM 2012

3) Journal as often as possible. Every day even...you're on a journey and writing down keeps you on that journey.

4) Find the worst possible photo of yourself and post it as motivation. You must post a photo with every Weigh In. Your initial Weigh In photo must be with a newspaper showing that day’s date clearly. Ideally, these same photos should be posted to your Gallery as well.

5) Make a few new Friends. These people are all just like you...not happy with their current shape/condition/circumstances, and they're all doing something about it. Birds of a feather my friends. They may even, and do, become real friends!

6) Share your good news on your friends on your Social Networks. Last years' winner, Maria Adelus, shared the same way, received even more support, and won $25,000. Toni Warrick, our 2009 Winner, did the same thing. See a pattern here?

7) Visit your Certified Fitness Nutrition Coach (CFNC) at Max Muscle AT LEAST once per month, preferably TWICE PER MONTH. Weigh in, get measured, get advise, stay motivated, stay educated...that's why they staff every Max Muscle Sports Nutrition store.

8) Congratulate people you don't know on their accomplishments. You saw the bumper sticker; Practice Random Kindness and Senseless Acts of Beauty One day in the near future you're going to need a lift in this competition, and you'll wake up and check your Shoutbox or Messages in your Profile and somebody will have done that for you. You'll have a great day...

9) Post pictures of your self often. It's a great feeling to look back as you progress. Check out one of our MaxForm Superhero Panel members, like Michele Jamison (http://www.mymaxmuscle.com/user/jamiemd/). She did it, and does it all. You should too!

10) Remember to keep your eye on your goal. We all react differently to changes in habit, just focus on where you want to go, keep looking at that horrible picture you hate of yourself, and wave goodbye with every rep, every 'eating clean' meal, and know that by this coming summer you'll be the person you're envisioning you will be today.
