In November of 2009 I realized I was on the highway to heart disease and an early death so I took the fitness off-ramp. Started going to Bend Adventure Bootcamp. The owners/trainers, Josh Field and Victoria Adelus talk the talk and walk the walk of fitness. Their enthusiasm is infectious and their motivation is incredible. They introduced me to proper nutrition and Max Muscle. I started seeing results like never before, in fact at 49 years old, I am stronger, faster and better than I have ever been in my life. I can do things now that I couldn't do when I wrestled in High School.
When I started bootcamp in November of 2009, I was 258 lbs, 33.4% body fat, I am now around 180 lbs and 10% body fat and still working on achieving single digits in that area. Even considering competing in physique contests.
I've become such a self proclaimed fitness geek that I am now an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified Personal Trainer. Wanna workout???

Thanks, I appreciate that! It's an ongoing process, a never ending story..........a.k.a. a lifestyle now. Some people call it an obsession and I'm ok with that.

Steve, the reason I gave those kudos is I was once a certified group ex instructor. I really enjoyed helping ours; I tried to ensure that the patrons who participated in group ex were performing each move correctly. If not, there was no benefit for the individual and there was a greater risk for injuries. However, often I would watch trainers and quickly made a determination who I would recommend if a client/patron asked. I believe trainers are essential in developing the overall body, to include strength and endurance as well as nutritional diet accompanied by supplements, if needed. Your client needs your expertise and guidance as well as a need for you to be an advocate for them when they lack that motivation. They need your infectious enthusiasm and motivation. Thank you for adding success to someone elses' life. Take care and happy new years to you and yours!

Wow! You've already made a great transformation. I'm about where you started back in 2009. Maybe someday, I'll actually be able to see my abs too! Best of luck and much continued fitness successes in 2012.

Thanks for the FR. Wow, what a great story.... good for you! It is amazing as we get older and get in shape how we can do things better then when we were young. If only we knew what we know now.... ha ha ha ha..... I hated hearing that as a younger person. I am very happy for you and look forward to reading your posts and seeing what you are up to.. thanks again for the FR and have a fantastic day!

Thank you so much for the recent comment on my Profile and recent journal. It means so much!!! Also, I tried the Triple Heaters again this weekend and was able to push out two rounds at the 30 seconds per pose. Let’s say sitting yesterday was slightly uncomfortable!!!

Steve, I tried the Triple Heater and I must say "OUCH"!!!!!! And I loved it!! I had to go down to 15 seconds each one 'cause my legs were shaking and burning so much!!! This will certainly help out the rear!!!! Thank you!!!!

@ Christina -Thanks for the comments on my photos, it's an ongoing process, but I am never going back. Your pics are impressive too! Congrats on the progress and glad you are enjoying a cheat meal once in a while. It's incredible how they can help you get back to losing weight if you hit a plateau.
@ Katie - out of all the stuff I do as a self proclaimed fitness geek, boot camp is ny far my favorite!!! LOVE my Bend Adventure Bootcamp and owe my lifestyle change to them.

Steve, you are so right!! I had a little “carb cheat” weekend! I felt so strong once Monday came around, and I’ve dropped 2 lbs this week already.

Diana, I'm doing a combination of the P90X nutrition plan as well as a max muscle plan. Seems to be working well. 6 months into it and I am still enjoying it. How far into P90X are you? Is it delivering the results you xpected?
