I am 33 year old, female Las Vegas, NV native - born, raised and still call Las Vegas home. My husband, Mark, and I have been married for 10 years and have a 9 year old daughter Caitlyn. I currently work at the St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation as a Manager of Annual Fundraising - so in short I raise money for the three St. Rose Hospitals including their community outreach programs.

Unfortunately, like most people I know, I have struggled with my weight since I was a teen. Looking back it seemed like a never ending roller coaster of loss and gain. I can remember weighing 123 lbs at one point and than moving up to 175 lbs and back and forth.

I can't help but laugh at pictures from high school and college and wonder, "What the hell was I doing to myself?" The weight always seemed most noticeable in my face!

When I got pregnant at 22 with my daughter, I ballooned to a whooping 233 lbs and at 5'5"! My husband at 6'2" was only 30 lbs heavier than me at the time. You see we both gained weight during my pregnancy. After giving birth I got down to 185 lbs but couldn't seem to lose anymore weight. Fortunately, I was persistent with my doctors that something was wrong and I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism about 8 months later. Medication helped but lifestyle choices such as diet and exercise really make a large difference.

My first successful weight loss occurred between 4/1/03 and 10/14/03 with Weight Watchers and my friend Kristin. I lost a total of 60 lbs in 6 months and got down to 125 lbs. I was an active lifetime member for about 18 months and then the weigh slowly creep back up.

It got worse in 2008 when I decided to switch careers and ended up losing my new job in June 2008 due to the economy. I made all the wrong decisions and the weight kept coming despite hiring a trainer and trying to get the weight off during the first six months of the year. I couldn't afford to continue with my trainer and went to food and nicotine for comfort - not sure what I was thinking but in the end I guess I wasn't thinking.

In April 2009, I started my current position. I was so happy that they had a no smoking policy which prompted me to quit smoking - I am smoke free to this day. Unfortunately, the weight kept creeping up - you see I was making money again and I could afford to eat out and did often - a little too often and making the wrong choices brought me to 185 lbs again in October 2009. I was constantly getting sick and when I was diagnosed with Swine Flu - I said enough is enough. As soon as I got better, I started going back to the gym and making better eating choices. I lost about 20 lbs on my own and rejoined Weight Watchers in May 2010. In June 2010, I hired a personal trainer again and was able to shred another 20 lbs re-obtaining my lifetime goal weight of 145 in December 2010.

While I have been successful in keeping the weight off - with the exception of about 4 lbs of beer and vacation weight - I hit a self imposed plateau. I wasn't seeing the results with Weight Watchers and my trainer - the lack of progress - caused a lack of commitment on my end and I needed to do something fast.

I had been going to the Max Muscle store to pick up Cliff Blocks for hiking and training. Finally, I asked about the nutrition programs and I am happy to say that I had my first meeting with Jennifer Lee and signed up on our visit first. At this point in my life, I really needed someone to tell me what I need to do, what to eat and how to eat it - basically I needed to retrain myself. I started on 8/22/11 at 149 lbs and I am so happy that I have made this change. I am so motivated to finally reach my goal of being actively healthy. I know that Jennifer laughed at my goal - which is to look great naked! Don't worry I won't be posting before and after pictures in the buff - but I can't wait to have that sense of accomplishment and inner peace.

I officially won the 12 week MaxForm Challenge (http://maxmuscle.com/article/2011/12/jaime-wellerlafavor-wins.html) on 12/28/11 and I can not begin to tell you how proud of was of myself - to set a goal, to go after it and achieve it. Honestly, I think that everyone thought I was crazy when I told them what I was doing and that I was going to win $5,000. It was an amazing 12 weeks - officially I lost 18 lbs (146 to 128) and 7.6% body (from 24.6% to 17%) and a total of 11.25 inches overall with 4.75 lost in my waist and 3.5 in my chest.

Today, my goal is to continue my health and fitness journey. I am participating in the MaxFormation 2012 Challenge to continue to push myself and finally reach that goal of looking great naked - not just good. So think - IBFF Bikini fitness. I will be Scaling the Stratosphere Tower on March 3 in support of the American Lung Association (1455 steps or 108 floors to be exact) - I did this last year with a time of 17:57 and is a great way to celebrate me being smoke free and bring awareness to the cause. Also, I will be participating in my first Iron Girl Triathlon on May 6th here in Las Vegas (800M swim, 22.5 mile bike and 5K run). I can't wait to see my results in June and I continue to be so thrilled to be a part of the Max Muscle community!

First - I was committed to quitting and second I used the 3 stage patch system - which worked great. I have never felt better and will never go back to smoking. Best wishes and be sure to get the tools and support you need.
