My name is Macio Oliveira. I was born in Brazil and my entire life I have struggled with my weight. I am very reserved and exposing myself out there on this weight loss journey has shown me that I can do anything I set myself for. It sounds like cliché, but it’s a big reality. But since I decided to lose weight forever and have a healthier life style I have noticed that some people around me are not as happy or excited as I am. Right there I learned that this is MY journey and this change is for me. Let the haters be my motivators… laugh!!!
I am 33 years old and I am a Banquet Captain in a Boutique Resort. I have food around me all day. And it is really powerful being able to control myself and not eating what have caused my overweight my whole life: any food, any time. Controlling what I eat, what time I eat, and portion control was definitely a key for the beginning of my transformation.
Last year, 2011, I decided to join Weight Watchers and I lost 35 LB. It was a great experience but I was not happy with my image. I looked too thin and all my friends and family start questioning if I was sick or not. Laugh, I guess, now I laugh because it was too hard to drop the weight and people again judging my conquer. Whatever…
I also join the gym and started running like “FOREST GUMP”… But surprisingly I started gaining weight back. The reason was I was not eating enough to feed my exhausted body after overtraining. My Weight Watchers mind didn’t let me be around food. I was in a wrong path.
By October I hired a personal trainer and after my first section with her she introduced me to Max Muscle and she asked to stop by to have a chat with Jason, the owner of the San Mateo store. In the beginning everything was too crazy for me. Changing my mind about eating was crazy. It was too much information. Jason was very nice and patient. Coming from Weight Watchers, I was afraid to put any carb. on my body… But as we know, complex carbs are the one who gives energy throughout the day. It was a learning process… It’s been a learning experience… Every day is another exciting day, a day that I have to plan, conquer and face it.
I am very excited about the MaxFormation 2012 and I am not stopping until I see “6 PACKS” on my stomach area… It sounds vain, but it is a goal that I thought I would never be able to achieve. This is a working progress; this is a journey of learning how to be positive, consistent, disciplined, and Healthy…
