I hate cheating......

January 27, 2012 8:06pm

I had my cheat meal just like my guru told me too. I read all your posts and took all your words into consideration, thank you, and drew from your support...and had my cheat meal.

My cheat food was:

Apple with peanut butter (high in carbs and fat)
5 french fries (high in everything)
4 drinks from my daughters chocolate milkshake (that was the best part)
A Maple doughnut (this gave me a sugar headache)
-along with it I had my normal chicken and salad... so I added my cheats to a normal meal.

Probably not the best cheat meal but I was at a loss of what to eat.

Today... I got on the scale.... (after the cheat meal) I was UP 2lbs. I thought I was going to faint. Those two pounds took forever for me to get off and poof just like that they were back. So I text my guru and tell him.
His response: "LOL, don't weigh yourself after a cheat meal that is like the worst possible thing you could do. Don't be so hard on yourself it's just water..trust me. As long as you are on track with the rest of your plan you'll be fine."

Okay, okay I am going to stop freaking out. It was a good reminder to me that food like that makes me feel crappy, sluggish and not myself. It was a good lesson that just like my with my menu I need to PLAN my cheat meals. Like a Katie, MM friend, said... "I do not have to go out and eat greasy food." What I need to do is plan a high carb, high fat healthier cheat meal that will not send my body into a coma but will still do the trick of tricking it.

I have said from day one... Mellie is A to Z kind of girl. I do it all the way or I don't do it... having a cheat meal is not in this A to Z make up but I am going to do what this competition is meant to do... change me. I am going to learn to adjust.. I am going to learn to not have to be perfect, I am going to learn that even though I am healthy there are still things for me to learn and change. I am going to learn what D, F L and O look like. It is all about transforming ourselves inside and out.

Fight the good fight.. no matter what YOUR fight is.

You will be fine. My former boot camp trainer, Alex Semenik told me that on the cheat meal, when you sit down, eat what you want, but the minute your ass is not on that chair your done, move on and eat clean again. Seriously it works, I just need to practice what he preaches.

Eat clean 85 percent of the time and workout hard and the rest will take care of

Part three... what I learned... my cheats will not be a maple bar... it will be clean food that I normally would not have... peanut butter... ground beef.. things high in fat that are organic... and will not send me into a coma or put me into feeding my body with chemical lased crap! :) Night everyone..... :) I love having discussions.. this is how we change the world

I know you hated it Mellie, and I am sure that you felt just like you did before you started all of this!!!! It was something you had to do to progress!! Believe me, I know how your system was shocked, and now, should be able to bust that plateau BIG TIME!!!

Part two..... Now that I am at 130 and in the best shape of my life I want to get to the next level. I want to be cut, I want my BF to drop and I want to drop another 5lbs. I have been eating clean and working out to get here and I am not moving that much, so I am going to try and shock my body by having a cheat meal once a week. ***iIN MY OPINION**** I would NOT do cheat meals until you hit YOUR goals. Not only does cheat meals eff with your mind, it gives your body the crap you are trying to detox from. Eating clean gets rid of the sugars, starchy carbs and high doses of fat.. once you give this back to your body it is like a small child.. it will continue to ask for it over and over again... (cravings) till you give in over and over again. Once my body has sugar it says... I remember this.. GIVE ME MORE!!!! So I avoid it all together. If I was just starting out.. no, I would not have a cheat meal... but for now... I have to try and see if it works. I hope this helps

The meals are kind of up to you. However, I would not recommend cheat meals until you hit a plateau that you can not get past!

Erika.. here is the deal for ME. I could NOT cheat. When I started my journey at 170lbs I thought I could have my cake and eat it too. I changed my eating but still had some things at night or treated myself so that I could live a "normal" life. People would say moderation.. everything in moderation. Not for me. Once I MADE the choice that NOT only was I going to eat Organic but I was also going to eat clean the weight started to fall off. I taught MYSELF that I had to fuel my body with the right foods.. I had to learn the times of day I could eat certain foods and I had to learn how to have the proper amounts of calories and carbs as well as protein. I had to dial in my menu. When this happened my life changed. I lost weight, I learned that my body was not healthy and I really began to understand how living really was. I stopped abusing my body with crappy food and alcohol. That is clean eating to me and there was no room for "cheat meals"

Mellie is around here tonight, and I'm sure that she can give you some advice on just tricking your body instead of putting yourself into food coma...lol

Fight the good fight every moment, every minute, everyday...it's the only way. You know he told you to have a cheat meal but that doesn't stop you from exchanging that energy with additional sweat equity to counter balance it. There a loophole in everything, adapt, look at it from a vantage point outside the box and attack it! Gunz will adapt and overcome!

You are exactly right.. thanks for the support!

For anyone who does not know... this was a cheat meal I was being told to have by my guru... so it's not like I was weak and went out and ate a burger...... I am trying to shock my body so I can get beyond my weight and BF that I am currently at.

I cheated tonight as well. Bring on the headaches. I guess its easier to deal with a headache then a couple pounds sometimes...
