I am married to a wonderful man, we are both in the military, and we have one 8 year old son. I am currently enrolled in college full-time and will complete a bachelors degree in Sports and Health Science with a concentration in Exercise Science at the end of July 2012. I am planning to enroll in a three year doctorate of Physical Therapy program in the spring of 2013. Now is the perfect time to commit to the challenge of changing my body, and my life, for the better.
I am not a stranger to weight training and nutrition, I've just previously lacked the motivation to NOT QUIT the program. Mentally, I am passionate about fitness and nutrition, but we all know that it takes more than KNOWING what to do and only TALKING about it. This time around, I WILL NOT QUIT!! I will put all the knowledge I've gained over the past several years to use. Today is not day 1 for me; I started working out again several weeks ago and have remained consistent since. I get in a minimum of 4 gym sessions each week, along with running to train for an upcoming half marathon. I am ready for this life, and cannot wait to experience the results of my hard work.

Hey, GREAT response on my last journal!!! You are actually the reason I tried the Pina Colada. I totally forgot you mixed it with the Tiramisu flavor (guess I know what my next product is!). Anyway, great info for not only me, but everyone who will read my journal today! Great job!!!

I've "known" what to do, just like most people, didn't do it! But, that has all changed. Good luck to you and thank you for the friend request. Looks like we are both runners! Way to go! \o/ (yeah!)

LOVE that quote. Took me a while to pound it into my head, but it is SO true... and I know we all CAN do this. Hats off to you and your husband for serving our country; you're greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Leigh Anne. We CAN do this, especially when we have so many others here who are going through the same (or similar) situations. There is a definite sense of community here, and I love it!

I can't take credit for the tip in my status. That was a suggestion for me from Joan Mirra, co-owner of Max Muscle in Kingston, PA. I was a little hesitant to try it, but was glad that I did. It is d-e-l-i-s-h!

I am doing well, how are you? Tomorrow will make a week for me and I am anxious to see if I have lost any weight. I had to have my wife hide the scale from me because I would get on it every hour if I could.
  • By LadyJane29 on December 07, 2010 3:38pm

I'm doing great! I know what you mean about the scale. I used to be that way, too. As long as you have actively made a difference in your eating and exercise (even if they were small changes) you should see that scale change for the better. I have duty this weekend, so I have to wait until Monday morning to take pics and weigh in. I don't feel as if I have lost any weight, yet, but I know that I have done the work in the gym. Stay +, and don't be afraid to ask others for help if needed!
