Tim R's Journal

Week in review

February 12, 2012 11:03am

So I am settling back into the regular routine of daily life after a hectic few weeks of work, and I had the entire weekend off finally!!! Got some good excersize in this week at the gym and moderate cardio. Not too happy with consuming 2 Mtn Dew's during the week, but I felt I needed it at the time with all the hours worked and getting that shaky feeling.

Yesterday was an amazing inspiration for me (even though I am doing very well with my plan) as I sat down with my number one supporter and fan for lunch, my youngest daughter (who is 15). We haven't had much 1 on 1 time lately with her hectic cheer schedule and my work, so it was awesome to spend some quality time together. The wife hadn't gone to the grocery store for the week yet, so I asked Ariel (my baby gurl) what we should have for lunch. She replied that we should run up the store and grab something 'fun'. Off we went, and as we were looking, she said "Dad, I saw this article the other day about turkey burgers and how healthy they are, let's make some!!!". So we get home, and she allready has out my calorie book, and informs me that I need to make 4oz burgers, and that I need to eat 2 of them, and still need another 100 calories to meet my lunch dose. So then she starts to make me a serving of brown rice, and then says 'since it's the weekend, you should be ok if I add a smidgen of teryaki flavoring to your rice'. Then she also made some frozen veggies up and told me an extra 35 calories wasn't gonna hurt. We sat down and ate a healthy lunch together, and caught up on EVERYTHING!!! School, boys (gag), cheer and my new job. We ended lunch by her telling me she was so proud of me for stickinhg to leading a healthy lifestyle now. As you can imagine, it was hard to fight back the tears (happy ones of course) as she gave me a hug.

Ariel has been such an inspiration for me!! My family and friends (meaning you all as well) have all been supportive, but Ariel is my rock. I remember in October of 2011 when I started going back to the gym and weighed 280+, that first month was hard. But she was always there to tell me that I didn't need the junk food, or fast food. She always saw better for me, and was my little trooper. After 2 weeks of living healthy, I let my cravings win when we were out and about, and I remember the look of disapointment on her face. I never want to see that look in her eyes again. She IS my motivation :)

This little zing of inspiration from Ariel yesterday has me down here in my computer room reformatting and tweaking my routine to go to another level yet...... I want to win this MaxFormation challenge so I can dedicate the win to her, my Ariel!!!

Best of wishes, now get in the gym and sweat!!!!

Those little ones are the reason we are here!!! And look at you being a good influence. You know, our kids are watching us and we owe it to them to be healthy, happy role models. Heck, it’s our #1 job!!!!

That is very sweet... I love it. You can do anything you put your mind to and she is right.. you don't need any of that crap. Don't beat yourself up on your Mtn Dews... full of sugar-yes... but at least you did not have 7 of them! :)

I don't think you read my journal in full, lol. The whole journal was sharing about my daughters influence and support, only the last sentence was anything about winning this competition. I firmly believe we all win by making a change in our life for the better, I don't feel that a truly humble person needs money or a magazine spread as the sole purpose of taking part in the maxformation. I have already won more than this competition could award me, a healthier lifestyle allowing me the ability to live a better life for my family :)
